What We Believe
We believe that ...
- God is active in the world and in the lives of his people and is greater than we can imagine. Nothing is impossible for God.
- The bible is a collection of writings inspired by God for use by all generations. We read it regularly because it shows us what God is like and what He has already done. It gives us direction for living our lives in the way God intended.
- Jesus is God's Son, who came to earth to demonstrate God's love to us, his people. Jesus claimed that his death on the cross would make it possible for anyone who follows him to have a new relationship with God. He came back from the dead to show his claims were true.
- God lives and works in our lives through his Holy Spirit.
- Nothing in creation 'just happened' - God made it all.
- God wants us to enter into a relationship with him. We are able to choose to do this because of God's grace - the fact that when we trust in God, there is nothing we can do to make him love us more and there is nothing we can do to make him love us less.
- Our relationship with God develops when we trust more of our lives into his hands.
- When we pray, God listens. He always responds to our prayer but not always in the way or timescale we expect.
- God can bring good out of evil events.
- Heaven and hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end.
- The church should serve people in the same ways that Jesus served people.
- Jesus is coming again.
